7 Essential Spirits for the Ultimate Home Bar

They say that you can tell a lot about the man in the house by looking at his home bar. Do you agree? If that is the case, how then do you decide on what to stock?

If you are working on a budget, you can stock up on the 7 essential spirits and still make great drinks out of the basics.

Here are the 7 Liquors that every home bar should not be without:

Rye Whiskey - Rye gives a spicy or fruity flavor to the Whiskey. Ideal for Whiskey sours or Manhattan

Gin - One of the most widely distributed range of spirits.A must have for your Martini.

Vodka - Vodka is made by distillation of fermented grains or potatoes. Needed for your Bloody Mary or Vodka Martini.

Rum - Made from sugarcane juices or byproducts such as molasses. Drink possibilities include Mojito or Cuba Libre.

Sweet and Dry Vermouth - Classified under fortified and aromatized wine. It should be refrigerated and drunk fairly quickly. Essential for Martinis or Manhattan.

Bitters - A concentrated flavor stimulants for cocktails.
